I have always been in search of THE perfect foundation. It seems like it’s almost as difficult as finding the right man. I want something lightweight, natural looking, full coverage and for a dry complexion. Doesn’t sound too difficult, right?
So I watched a few Youtube reviews about the Satin Matte Foundation by Sonia Kashuk. I don’t trust Youtube because nothing seems to work for me over half the time, but I don’t want to go in blind. So I made my way to Target which has become a daily ritual nowadays…especially since I live like a block away from one. Danger zone!
I have only seen this brand at Target and nowhere else aside from online. I love the sleek packaging and simple design. I am obsessed with NARS packaging because it just looks high end ( which it is ) and sexy and sleek. This packaging of Sonia Kashuk is somewhat similar just because it’s matte black and has a large font on it. I do like that you can see the foundation shade at the bottom, but I am unsure how true to color that is.
It has a pump at the top which makes it somewhat easy to control the amount of foundation that comes out. I hate wasting an excessive amount of foundation! This is also easy to travel with and the top has a strong closed grip. This particular foundation claims to be good for oily to combination skin and mine is somewhat on the dry side which made me a little concerned to try it out.
I used both a real techniques brush and a blender for application in which both worked out great! I do prefer the brush over the blender. This foundation was/still is awesome! It’s actually my go to foundation and has been for months now. It doesn’t cling to my dry spots or make my pores appear larger. I also don’t breakout with this one! The lasting power to this foundation is also great! I wear it all day every single day and it lasts me a good 8 – 9 hours which is generally the longest that I tend to wear makeup since I am a stay at home mom. You can probably pull it off longer than that!
I have heard people complain about it smelling like perfume and the scent being pretty strong, but it didn’t bother me at all! I guess if you are a person bothered by smells then that would be the only con to this foundation.
Have you tried it out yet? What are your thoughts?
